Shuttlecock Performance
As we play through the summer months I thought it might be a good idea to monitor and log the performance of various shuttles used/tried out during this period. The shuttles will be subject to average club play conditions rather than competative league play.
Obviously this not a definitive review of the various makes and model of shuttle, but merely an observation of their longevity, performance and characteristics as noted by the players during these sessions.
It is accepted that there are many influences that may affect a shuttles performance. These include storage, atmospheric conditions during play, players skill, use and respect for the shuttle during play, and of course the make, quality, rating and age of the shuttle itself.

- Avg price paid. £1.12 per shuttle from Supertec - Ebay
- Duration of play: 3 hours
- Number of courts: 2
- Number of players: 9
- Number of shuttles retired/used by end of session: 8
Notes: These Shuttles perfomed well and durability did not seem as much of an issue as the HEAD shuttles used last week. Temperature on the courts was high and so the shuttles were flying fast and subject to quite a bit of punishment. Good value for money!
